| site_overview | 北に米ケ森（H313m）があり、その南麓に荒川によって形成された河岸段丘（100m）の突端に位置する。南西には水田地帯、鳥海山の麗姿がみえる。石器のみを出土させる本遺跡は県下で稀であり、他遺跡に出土しているナイフ形石器と異なる（東山形ナイフと杉久保形との影響）点でも重要性がある。現在、遺跡付近は草地改良組合によって牧草に整地されているが、かつては馬捨て場であり、ローム層中深く掘り込まれ破壊されている。 |

| current_condition | 両縁に再加工を施こし、基部の方には彫刻刀面がある。横断面はほぼ山形状をなす（△状）。
刀と主要剝離面とのなす角は70度ほどである。典型的な貢岩の石材を使用し、ほぼ円弧状の刃がつけられているもの。 |
