| site_overview | 鏡塚古墳は太平洋を眼下にみおろす標高35mの台地上にあり。北側には涸沼川を望んで径90mの大円墳車塚がある。
鏡塚は全長約96m、前方部幅推定35m、高さ約3.5m、後円部径62m、高さ約11mの前方後円墳で、前方部の著しく低い古式古墳の形態を有する。
内部主体は、後円部のほぼ中央、表土下1.4mの地点に幅3.5m、長さ10mを超える粘土槨が発見された。５世紀初頭の頃の古墳と考えられている。 |
