| site_overview | 関山貝塚は岩槻支台、綾瀬渓谷の左岸に位置している。遺物の分布範囲はかなり広く、市営浄水場付近から県道大宮～栗橋線のあたりまで散布している。貝塚は新発見の2ヶ所を加えて、計5ヶ所が原状を保っている。本貝塚はいうまでもなく、前期関山式土器の標式遺跡であるが、昭和46年の調査では貝塚を伴う1号住居址より多数の土器が発掘され、関山Ｉ式の編年を決定づけてくれた。 |

| current_condition | 結節縄文をもった関山Ｉ式に特徴的な縄文である。結節は1段の縄2本で行ない、2回くぐらす。縄の方向が異なるのは（羽状）、ゆわき方の違いによるものである。この種土器は量的に少なかった。口縁部に不規則な無文帯をもっており、中央に補修孔を2つあけている。整形焼成が悪く、焼きの良い関山Ｉ式の中では稀である。
又、高さより、口径の大きい土器でもある。 |
