| site_overview | 関山貝塚は岩槻支台、綾瀬渓谷の左岸に位置している。遺物の分布範囲はかなり広く、市営浄水場付近から県道大宮～栗橋線のあたりまで散布している。貝塚は新発見の2ヶ所を加えて、計5ヶ所が原状を保っている。本貝塚はいうまでもなく、前期関山式土器の標式遺跡であるが、昭和46年の調査では貝塚を伴う1号住居址より多数の土器が発掘され、関山Ｉ式の編年を決定づけてくれた。 |

| current_condition | 口縁部文様帯は平行線間を2条の蕨手文で施し、その間を円形コンパス文でうめている。
関山式土器は縄文時代を通じて最も縄文の発達した時期であるが、Ｉ式の縄は2種以上を用いた羽状が多く、「多条」が大部分である。胴部に施された縄は、Ｌ「RR」0団3条、R「LL」0段多条の組み合わせで羽状縄文文をつくっている。間に2段のコンパスが入っている。 |
