| site_overview | 横須賀市街地に下町とよばれるところがあり、そこには竜本寺をのせる第三紀の丘陵が突出している。この丘陵の西側には小さな谷が発達し、そこを下町から上町に通ずる道路が走っている。俗にその部分は平坂とよばれている。貝塚はこの平坂に面する斜面の上部、即ち標高40mを示す等高線上にあり、丘陵の基部近いところに単独に所在する。そして平坦な縁辺に沿って細長く分布し、その長さは約10mほどの小さな貝塚である。 |
