| site_overview | 本遺跡は桐生市から西方4km、国鉄両毛線岩宿駅から西北方1kmの地点に位置し、小丘陵の鞍部斜面に存在する。この丘陵は赤城山の山麓の末端に孤立するものであり、南方を金毘羅山（標高196.2m）、北方を稲荷山と呼び、ほぼ同高の二つの頂点を有する二子山である。遺跡の内、A区、B区は鞍部の西方斜面にあり、この鞍部を切通している道路を境としてA区は北部に、B区は南部に位置する。又C区はA区より西北方約100mのところにある。 |

| current_condition | 淡黄色の頁岩。この色は石質変化によるものであって、本来の色はねずみ色である。不整形の剥片側部に簡単な細部加工みたいな痕跡が認められる。剥離角は103度、剥離面を大きく残し、打瘤裂痕が明確である。 |
