楕円形の小型ナイフは、先土器文化の中魚沼群楢ノ木平から3点の出土例がある。
御渕上においては図で示すような先端の欠失した小判形の楕円ナイフが2点出土した。2点とも背（表）面の中央部は扁平に、多面剥離され、さらに主剥離（裏）面もとも平滑に作出されている。右は垂直剥離の石片から、また左は横剥ぎの剥片を用𣏾加工している。ともに輝緑凝灰岩。 |
