| site_overview | 遺跡は福山市の西郊を流れる芦田川の河口より上流約7kmの河床にあり、現在は川の推し流す土砂が遺構面上に1～2m推横している。範囲についてはまだその状況が十分把握されているとは言えないが、芦田川の中州となっている約63,000m2の地域については、草戸千軒町遺跡調査所によって発掘調査が進められている。土器・陶磁器・木製品・墨書木札等・厖大な量の遺物が出土するとともに、道路・柵・溝・池・土壙・井戸・柱穴などが検出され、中世集落跡の性格が次第にあきらかになっている。 |
