この像は、腺の寿像とされており、写実的に力強く彫られている。数度の災で後世、塗装の補修をしているが、玉眼入りで顔面の肉取りの具合など生動的である。
曲彔に座して袈裟納衣を前に垂れ下げた今日、禅寺で一般に見る開山像の姿態である。頚部の内刳に紀年墨書がある。 |
