| Form / Shape | 木喰上人略伝によれば安永9年（1780)会津より高原・日光東照宮・今市を経て9月22日栃窪に着き、翌安永10年2月21日の出立までの約４ヶ月間に薬師如来・両脇侍及び守護神の12神将計15躯を刻み、薬師堂に残したという。上人63才のときである。なお、弟子の白道が同行していた。現在その全躯が残されている。
この日光菩薩は薬師如来坐像の脇侍として造られたものである。 |
