小野栄重は安中市板鼻町（中山道板鼻宿）に生れ、伊能忠敬に随って全国の測量にあたる。のち郷里に帰り和算を指導する。墓は同町南窓寺にあり県史跡指定。天保二年二十六日(69才)で没。群馬県での和算の質量を高めた功績は大である。
本額は天明七年に掲げたものが風雨によりだめになったので再掲した旨の小野栄重(良佐）の序がある。 |
