明治十五、六年頃新河岸川舟運に川蒸汽を通そうとした計画があった。主として上新河岸の積問屋が企てたもので、川越から東京花川戸まで乗客一人四十銭、荷物一駄四十五銭で運送するはずであった。ところが川底が浅く、外輪船に藻がからむため実際には計画倒れに終わってしまった。この引札は当時のものだが、五七調の名文句で、その頃の人々の新興の意気をうかがうことができる。 |
