安政四年の上新河岸の村絵図で、川に面した竪八十間の川岸場や道路、船問屋を含む14戸の民家の配置および砂村、下新河岸との村境がわかる。遠藤家は江戸初期以来、新河岸舟運の上新河岸の舟問屋で、家号を炭屋と称した。名主望月八兵衛の署名がある。 |
