桃隠正寿和尚は甲斐河内領主穴山信友おび同夫人の帰依を請け鎌倉建長寺より下山天輪寺に住し永禄9年信友夫人が死去するやその菩提寺南松院の創設にあたり開山となった。画像の筆者は武田逍遥軒と伝えられるが不明、色彩豊かで佳麗な画像である。「松泉沠下南松開山桃隠和尚肖像・・・・元亀庚午十一月初吉春国誌」という、甲府長禅寺2世春国光新の著賛が附せられている。 |
