五智如来像の完存は全国的にも少なく、しかも保存は良好である。桧材の内刳りのある寄木造り、明治の中葉像全体をベンガラウルシで塗りかえた。記録の明確なものはないが、高倉天皇の承安年間（1171～4）当国の領主の加賀美次郎遠光が如意庵を再建した時のものと推定され、元暦年間（1184）小笠原次郎長清が毘沙門天を併記したというのが正しいと思われる。 |
