長沢芦雪（宝暦４年・1754～寛政11年・1799）の作品で平安蘆雪謾寫の落款と魚印を有する。高山寺所蔵の「三番日含」によれば芦雪は天明７年（1767）2月中旬に同寺へ立ち寄っているが、この作品はそのときのものですなわち芦雪３４才の作品であると考えられている。「三番日含」の中に「雪山之大幅等書画ス」とあり、「雪山」は「寒山」の誤りではないかとの考えもあるが、この作品が大幅であることから見てそうであるかも知れない。 |
