画面の最上部に日蓮宗特有のひげ題目「南無妙法蓮華経」と書いてある。山内一豊の弟康豊像は斜左向に上畳の上に坐し、茶地に紋付の内衣を着け、黒に紋所を刺繍したらしい肩衣をはおる。面貌はやヽ角張った顔にしわを刻み、三角形の小さい眼口髯をたくわえた小さい口もとなど、武骨さを感じさせる像主の個性的風貌を、やヽくまとりのある筆彩で写実的に描写されている。画面上部に向って右より十一行の讃がある。
