絵絹5枚からなる大幅、通常の涅槃図の様式を示し、画面向って右に忉利天より降る摩耶夫人、中央やや上部に横臥する釈迦を中心として仏弟子・菩薩・大衆・禽獣が数多く描かれ、諸像は釈尊の顔に向って集中する姿勢をとっており、構図上の意図的なものが、よく緊張感を示し、宝冠・瓔珞・文様などは金泥の盛上彩色があり、肥痩を加えた筆勢は流動的である。 |
