| site_overview | 北に米ケ森（H313m）があり、その南麓に荒川によって形成された河岸段丘（100m）の突端に位置する。南西には水田地帯、鳥海山の麗姿がみえる。石器のみを出土させる本遺跡は県下で稀であり、他遺跡に出土しているナイフ形石器と異なる（東山形ナイフと杉久保形との影響）点でも重要性がある。現在、遺跡付近は草地改良組合によって牧草に整地されているが、かつては馬捨て場であり、ローム層中深く掘り込まれ破壊されている。 |

| current_condition | いわゆる東山形ナイフの典型的なものである。石刃の打面を大きく残し、打面周辺の側縁だけに細かな加工を施して基部とする特色をもっている。黄白色の色調をおびている美しい石器である。打面からみて、調整打面をもつものと考えられる。基部の加工は主要剝離面方向からのものである。 |
