| site_overview | 榛名山の南麓が烏川に終わる台地に分布する古墳群。台地は北方より延びて、西側に侵館谷を配し、南は烏川の段級崖に終わっている。東方に向ってなだらかに傾斜する。この台地上にはほぼ3群からなる古墳の群集地域があり、本古墳群はその最両端、最高位置に分布する。約200m×200mの範囲に63基が確認され、恐らく60～80基の古墳が存在したと推定される。後期の群集墳を構成している。 |
