| site_overview | 極楽寺遺跡は、上市川左岸の極楽寺段丘面と呼ばれる河岸段丘上にある。標高120m、現河床との比高は30mである。
昭和初期に発見されてから、滑石製品の多いことで注目され、また、県内では数少ない前期初頭の遺跡としても重要視されていた。昭和38年の発掘調査によって、極楽寺式の型式内容が明らかになるとともに、玉類がこの遺跡で製作されていたことが、確実となった。 |
