| site_overview | 宮山古墳は市川下流の東岸に存在し海岸から約4kmの所に位置している。付近は姫路平野の中心部で、多数の弥生遺跡、古墳群があり中でも全長約140mの前方後円墳である壇場山古墳一辺が50mの方墳である山之越古墳は宮山古墳の東北約2kmに存在している。また播磨国分寺も同距離に存在している。
宮山古墳は昭和44年夏調査が実施され、5世紀後半と推定される。 |

| current_condition | 宮山古墳を含む一帯は部落有であるが、昭和44年夏石室の清掃と実測を中心に調査を実施したが、昭和47年、地元が古墳の土砂を売り、跡地を宅地として売ろうとしてブルドーザーを導入した。しかし諸般の事情により、工事は中断された。このとき、すでに第1第2主体部が消失してしまったが、削りとられたあとから第3主体部が発見された。昭和47年夏、国庫補助を得て調査を実施した。古墳は児童公園兼用の古墳公園として保存されている。 |
