| site_overview | 室大墓ともよばれる三段築成の前方後円墳で周囲には濠が存在していたと考えられる。墳丘には葺石・埴輪がある。前方部でかつて漢式鏡や玉類が出土した。後円部には二ヶ所堅穴式石室があり、その一方に長持形組合せ式石棺がある。盗掘されていたので副葬品は匂玉、石製模造器等が残っていたのみである。5世紀半前頃に築造されたと思われる。 |

| current_condition | 凝灰石の切石をもって造られた組合せ長持形石棺で全面に朱が塗られている。蓋石上面には左右各々4個づつ計8個の格子状の堀りくぼみがあり、また前後左右各2個計8個の雄大な円筒状の縄掛突起が造付けられている。棺身は木口2枚、側石2枚、底石一枚からなるもので側石の前後に各個の縄掛突起を持つ。 |
