最上紅花の名で、京都、大阪に送り出された紅花の数量の確実なものはわからない。「最上紅花一夏千駄」と云われたのは、最盛期（寛政～化政期）のことと考えられている。１）寛文～享保期に３００～５００駄 ２）宝暦～化政期（１，０００～１，２００駄） ３）幕末には殆んど唐・天竺紅に圧到されて数的把握は出来ない。凡そ、全国流通量の半数～半数以上を出していた。今日の米価に換算すると約４０億の取引高であった。 |
