| Form / Shape | 船形台座に和船の帆を形どった光背に、千手観音を陽刻している。日光、月光菩薩を左右傍仏として陽刻してある。蓮辨の代りに波形が見られ、海上安全を祈願したか、或には難波船の供養を捧げたものであろう。
「明徳丸、石見油屋未代固」と見えるから、破船供養塔と見るべきかも知れない。
稲荷小路舟魂明神に同じ形の塔婆が見えるか、寺の縁起に記されているのはない。明徳丸については、寺僧の語るところも定かでない。湊町では、破船や漂着船の供養塔の類が多いが、その為の良き資料となろう。 |
