| Form / Shape | この不動明王像は多くの古様を残している。
見開いた眼の瞳は左眼は上方右眼は加法と不揃に描かれ、二牙とも下方に向けられているが、これは鎌倉時代前期の宅磨長賀の不動明王を想起させよう。また火焰の表現は六道絵巻中の地獄火焰の形式への類似を注目させるであろう。台座には八段の瑟々座を描き、裳の端を台座からはみ出させているのも古様である。然し火焰の朱の色鎌倉の丹朱ではない。割れ目の多い火焰の外廊を線描きしている点や不動の頭上に■髪や八葉蓮を描く代りに蓮花を描いている点や裳の文様などから本画像の制作年代は室町時代と思われる。 |
