| Form / Shape | この仏像は三修上人が開いた長尾護国寺のあとといわれる小堂に安置されている。そのお堂は惣持寺からの山の中徒歩１０分位の位置にあって奥の院昆沙門堂と呼ばれている。正面の厨子の中に天部形立像が納まり、その厨子前に昆沙門天像がお前立ちのように安置されている。寺では両像とも昆沙門天とよんでいる。天部形立像は欅材が固い材を用い一本造り、後頭部から腰の下まで長い内ぐりがほどこされている。両手先は後補であるが、容貌、形状などは一見奈良末の天部立像を思わせるものがある位である。平安初期の山岳信仰の中で作られたものとしてまずあやまりはないと思う。 |
